Teaching

For me, teaching is a personal passion. I teach because I enjoy helping students to learn not only what and how, but most importantly, why. My teaching focuses on engaging students and inspiring them about the subject.

In 2021 I joined the partnership programme between Bath Spa University and GBS in Manchester as a Lecturer in Construction Management.

I am also part of a group of visiting lecturers for Innova Publica's online postgraduate diploma for Latin America, teaching the importance of considering the physical and psychological reactions of both people in prison and prison staff to the built environment in the design and execution of rehabilitatative programmes and facilities.

I started teaching in 2006 as Associate Lecturer at the Universidad del Bio-Bio in Chile, at the same university department where I was awarded my first under degree. Although I never stopped working in the field as a construction engineering manager, I always reserved time to enjoy the teaching experience until I decided to leave my country to start a PhD in The University of Sheffield.

Between 2007 and 2013 I taught the following subjects for undergraduate students at the Construction Science Department of the Universidad del Bio-Bio:

  • Sanitary Engineering

  • Construction Management

  • Cost Engineering

  • Construction Surveying

  • Project Management
